  My old congregation is being shuttered

  i just found out from my jehovah's witness cousin that my old congregation is being shuttered due to lack of elders, less than 20 members attending, and that the congregation cannot meet their monthly expenses.. here is a congregation that was started in 1975 with less than 15 members.

  it grew to 185 members in the 1990's.

  the congregation grew so large that the elders decided to split the congregation in two.

  What`s the reason some of you think JW`s are in decline ?

  from what i can see no such thing is happening.i became a jw in 1960 and remained for about 30 years and the numbers of active jw`s today in the world are far greater than they were back then.. and here in australia the numbers are much higher than they were back then .. so i don`t see that their in decline or have any worries about losing support .. don`t the numbers speak for themselves ?.

  is it just wishful thinking on your part ?.

  A good number are waiting for the new world to procreate. And many are taking the GB2.0 all there time effort and money

  You see that's the example of a "ponzi scheme".

  They take what you ""have now" with something better down the road.

  Cults never deliver on what they promise.

  That's where they get you. Something in the future and taking what you have now ,,but ,,never coming through.

  Taking your time,,energy and money what you never get back.

  Barbara said last nite that it was in fact Fred Franz,,,who was the real "enforcer"" of the Borgs iron-fisted policies. Which are carried out to this day. Franz is where these 'extreme policies' were trumped up.

  I can't remember the exact words. Along those lines.

  We all have Fred Franz to thank for this.

  The Borg was f$@#ed 20 years ago or so as the internet flourished. Its been downhill for them ever since and they can never recover.

  Thats the beauty of it all. The Borg never saw or anticipated any of it,,,they never seen the internet age coming.

  Their printing age drying up and their lies being uncovered.

  when i was young we used to hear things about how they used to smoke and used to celebrate christmas etc.

  we were just taught that was olden times now jehovah has clarified things.. but i was thinking about the poor older ones who had been in truth for decades who remembered those times, and they must have had doubts.. well look at the changes today in 2023.. we are supposed to just forget about 1975 and all these other things so what about the things happening in our time that we are supposed to feget about .

  we should never forget that following direction to be fully vaccinated was harmful direction.

  Confirmed: CO Discourages Zoom

  i can confirm that the co during one of his service talks stated that zoom is a provision for elderly, infirmed, as well as people who might need it on occasion due to health reasons, otherwise you are expected to be in person at meetings and in the ministry.

  this had to come down from the top.

  maybe they do not want to put it in a gb update or broadcast since that would be too public i suppose.

  Yes. More bodies in KH seats, more contribution boxes in plain sight by attendees.

  Conspicuously placed near entrances and washrooms so you can't miss them. The Borg has to get back on track since the pandemic of 3 years has ran the contribution boxes dry.

  Sorry, I should have elaborated. Excuse me.

  I should have said do ''everything opposite the Borg preaches about associating with JW's only''

  Branch - out and make friends with non JWs. But using your head about it.

  We know how much the Borg parrots not even going for a burger or fries with non JW's after work or for coffee after.

  Just do what the Borg says NOT to do about not making non JW friends. Make friiends outside of the Borg. But using common sense as a denominator.

  Etc.
